Here is a snippet from pop singer Rihanna's new song:
Come here, rude boy, boy
Can you get it up
Come here, rude boy, boy
Is you big enough
I can't believe this is on the radio. What kind of message is she sending to today's little girls out there? What a horrible example she is setting! After all, it should be "are you big enough," not "is you big enough."
yes shame on her and her improper use of the English language! :)
ReplyDeleteSomewhere, there's an english teacher shaking her head saying "I know i taught her better than that!"
~hl~
if she was trying to set a good example the lyrics would be something like
ReplyDeletecome on nice, pleasant young man
let's go out for a fancy dinner.
come on nice, pleasant young man
you'd pay the bill; you is a winner.
"The PenIS mightier than the sword."
ReplyDeleteYeah....
Hahahaha! Man I was thinking the SAME thing first time I heard it too... Her grammar is WRONG! Is that bad that we're more concerned with the grammar than the message?
ReplyDeleteLyn: Yes. English teacher and manners teacher.
ReplyDeleteJov: That's more like it. And you can add in there a lyric about not beating her up so she has to miss the Grammy's
Heff: Well said. Like the double meaning there . . .
Robot: I am, of course, more concerned about the nasty message than the grammar, but I wanted to make a funny. : )
Kirstie Alley may be BIG but I think she is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFatty's are people too.
Huh? I'm lost. That must be in reference to something I left on your page. I'll look into it . . .
