After that, I drive out to my parents' place, wrap up all the gifts, usually doing a pretty half-assed job at it, since it's only going to get torn up anyway, and then I spend the night by my sister's place with her and the nephews. Only one and a half of the three still believe in Santa Claus, but that's enough to make it a lot of fun when they come down the stairs in their jammies and see what St. Nick brought them.
I really do love my family, and this is the time of year I really appreciate them. And those mall pretzels.
How are you doing with your shopping, and how are you spending your holiday, Seven Readers?

I get my Christmas shopping done early, around July or August. The special people get "Bananarands" minted by my goldsmith, Joos de Villiers. The less special people get fertility symbols or suppositories.
I always get so excited to give people things that will make them happy and take forever to find the perfect thing for everyone. I like to make things for people if I can, which means it takes me forever to finish all my presents. I also think making things for people makes me sound old. I promise they are cool things I make, not lame toaster cozy things like a grandma would make. I do buy things too.
I think the most fun part of Christmas for me is seeing the things my kids get me for Christmas. Seeing what they think I would love is often hilarious. Now that they are getting older it is getting less funny but in the past I got the oddest things and would think to myself "they think I would want this? really? what kind of vibe am I giving off that would say this would be the perfect thing for me?"
I think it's awesome that you get so excited about seeing your nephews wake up and see thier presents. You are one cool guy.
Mmmmmmmm...mall pretzels.
All my shopping is done. 90% of it was done on the Internet. Yay technology!
Now if only I could order mall pretzels through my USB port.
Gorilla: Wow. You're so thoughtful. Am I special or not special in your gorilla world?
Radio: Yes, I can totally see you being a bomb gift maker/buyer. Big ups, girl.
Beck: I'm 90% done now too, but I just stayed in Chicago proper, so no malls, so no pretzel. I'd USB that stuff too right now. Dang it!
