I'm going to be writing an article for Starpulse.com in which I talk about (make fun of) the TV show, Little Miss Perfect. I want to know what you think, if you could leave me some insights in the comments, but here's what I think so far:

1. The moms and dads of these kids are really demanding. You always hear about asshole dads making their sons shoot a million freethrows, or whatever, what about a mom I saw the other night making her obviously already tired daughter practice her routine over-and-over, and then saying, "just 15 more and you can go to bed." The worst part about it is that the father and little son had to stay up and watch too. Maybe that wasn't the worst part, but I was just picturing myself being one of those two.

2. It's sick and wrong that they dress these little girls up with clothes and makeup that make them look 11 years older. And whores. What's worse, sometimes they dance like whores too. Are they trying to get their kids molested, or worse, killed like JonBenet Ramsey?

3. How funny is that host? How is it that he's better at prancing around than all these girls?

Your thoughts . . .

In other words, write this article for me? . . .

I have never seen the show but it sounds atrocious and appalling. I would rather watch something more cerebral like Jersey Shore. I hope your 7 dear readers come up with some help since I totally shit the bed on this one. Sorry. But you did get mentioned in my most recent blog post so you got that going for you which is nice.

the moms always say "WE DO IT BECAUSE SHE LOVES IT" but the little girls don't seem too fond of the hours of practice.
i can kind of understand that, though: i'd put up a fight when i had to go to ballet class when i was that age, but i loved being onstage performing. the moms just understand that, to make the performance "worth it" [ie the kid winning $$ to either save or compensate for entry fees/dresses/other pageant expenses] they need to push the girls to be the BEST.

that being said, i got much more discipline and life lessons from my ballet classes than these little girls are getting from their moms teaching them how to shake their hips wearing a $5000 satin tutu in the living room.

I never watched an episode but from the clips I've seen the mother looks like she was the "grenade" in her girl crew when she was younger and is now trying to gain attention by living vicariously through her underage, yet overly sexualized toddler.

I've never seen this show, but it sounds horrible. I can't stand those pageant moms. They all need to be shipped off to an island somewhere.

I've seen an episode and blamemyrobot is right...The majority of the moms are trying to regain their "younger years" by living through their daughters. The mothers enjoy the attention just as much, if not more than their daughters.
The episode I caught was one where one of the girls was a complete bitch. She treated her mother and those around her horribly. Her attitude made her ugly, but she won, which really sucked. If I would have acted like that my mother would have kicked my ass into next week.
I've also seen clips for the show where the little girls were standing there, sobbing while they were spray tanned, extensions pinned into their hair and false eyelashes applied to their lids. Didn't look like much fun to me!

Shife: Thanks for the props, and by saying "shit the bed" you totally didn't "shit the bed" because I've never heard that one, and I'll be saying it. Does that make sense?

Blame: Thanks for coming by! Yes, they are always ex-grenades. Hahaha.

Beck: Oh, it's horrible all right.

Jeni: I'm glad you mentioned the pain because you reminded me that I want to explore that angle. I saw a girl getting her teeth polished, and it looks like that hurts like a bitch. It's like a power tool.

you responded to everyone but me? :(

Given that pedo's already justify that kids flirt with them, this kind of behaviour/dress only concrets their way of thinking.

I think its revolting and the parents are living their own lives through that of their children.

Jov: So sorry!! Actually, I did play the angle of the parents being more into it than the kids.

Smack: Yes, and usually they're big fat ladies, so why all the pressure for their daughters to be thin and pretty? Hmmmm . . .
