"Don't Feel Much Like Ridin'"

Today, Gancey Girlfriend and I drive the three or four hours out to her hometown for Thanksgiving and then back to the Chicago area to see Dr. Ken's family (the middle-nephew has pneumonia, and he's in the hospital, so hopefully he'll be okay). On the drives, while Gancey Girlfriend works on her thesis, I was thinking of listening to all the best albums by Beck, since I just downloaded his entire catalog very illegally.

I've always wanted to do a long road trip and listen to one artist in chronological order, like all the way across the states playing my entire Pink Floyd collection.

How about you, Seven Readers, have you ever done that, and if you did, which artist would you bump in your ride? If you're not a music person, then perhaps an author's stuff on books on tapes or some podcasts, perhaps?

Um, for me, depending on my mood, i would do either Kid Rock OR Aereosmith. Both have a sound that has changed, or is EVER changing...

Van Halen. and Neil Diamond and I would do every other track...It's hard for anything to follow "Hot For the Teacher" that is unless it's "Cracklin' Rosie."

I would probably do Pearl Jam. And I would definitely do Eddie Vedder, given the chance.

I wouldn't mind doing that with Metallica, but it would have to be one helluva long car trip.

I've already done it with The Killers seeing as how I own all four of their albums. It was more fun than I thought it would be and surprisingly gave me a greater appreciation for the albums that I wasn't too fond of.

when i went to vermont we'd get stoned and drive around listening to the vengaboys cd on repeat. im not sure if that's the same.

my brother and i took a drive up to school one year listening to the eagles and only singing along to the backup vocals.

The Doors (with James Douglas Morrison) their sound changed quite a bit throughout their catalog. Pearl Jam or Floyd would be great but you wouldn't be able to get that done in 4 hours, perhaps for a roundtrip.

Don't do the last wedding speach man, that was pretty brutal. This wedding just make sure to mention our fun times together, end o subject.

Lyn: Aerosmith would be an interesting choice to see how their sound changed over the years. And years. And years . . .

Jenni: They should tour together!

Beck: Hahaha. How about RH on Eddie with his retrospective playing!

Polk: Nah. Cause you would just need the first 4 Metallica records.

Jov: Just backing vocals is a GREAT call. Sounds fun. I love the backing vocals on Help! by the Beatles. Best ever . . .

Nobes: Doors would be fun, like the Doors Fan sketch on Kids in the Hall!
