What is your go-to karaoke song?

I usually would go with "Cold As Ice" by Foreigner, but I got really sick of it.

Last night, a coworker and myself fricking KILLED "Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker and whoever that chick was. Tonight I think I'm going to try "Suffragette City" by Bowie. The birthday girl, a friend of one of Dr. Ken's "special lady friends," is planning on doing Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World."

Which song do you hate to hear people do?

This one is a tie between anything from "Grease" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." The latter is a song I rather like, but not when people try to sing it because A) It's really long B) They usually do it crappy, and C) There are like 15 Freddy Mercury's layered on that track, so how in the hell do they think they can pull it off? Downright irritating.

My go-to karaoke song is usually something with a rap break. Because it usually ends up funny & I just can't do it seriously. Today I actually did a recording of me doing "Imma Be" by Black Eyed Peas. It sounds so bad but SO GOOD too.

I hate it when people do "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy" or anything by Kid Rock or Uncle Kracker.

I have to be quite intoxicated to sing karaoke. But I do remember KILLING 'Ice Ice Baby' once. Seriously, I got EVERYONE dancing. Proudest karaoke moment of my life.

I do NOT like when I hear people sing Hotel California or America Pie or I Will Survive or anything by Shania Twain. Seriously? You can't come up with anything more creative??

Andrew: HATE that ride a cowboy song. Wait, y do you record yourself singing songs?

Donk: Yeah, those are all really bad one you mentioned, unless it's the cool Spanish version of Hotel.

Years ago I dated a guy who did awesome Led Zeppelin. Seriously, when he said he was going to do Whole Lotta Love I was waiting for it to be awful and it totally rocked. That possibly could have been because I had a lot of drinks while we waited for his turn but I only remember him being awesome so it must be true.

My old next door neighbor used to sing Hotel California every single time he was drunk. He was drunk a lot. I kinda hate that song now.

Oh, I did it because I was bored & I wanted to hear how bad I could make myself sound without it seeming intentionally bad.

Radio: I actually like to do "Stairway" knowing full well that I will do it terribly and it will be 7 minutes.

Andrew: Send me the file! No. Don't. Hahhaa.

I can. I might post it on my blog though.

Drew: You're going to post your singing on your blog? Awesome.

I don't mind what they sing as long as it isn't a song with the same repetitive lyric...

I like to sing all of it. group singing is fun fun fun...the last time it was B52s...damn it was fabulous.

lots of talent out there...and sometimes...so so much talent. hehehe

later sweetie. xx

i very, very rarely remember my karaoke selections. there's a series of pictures from senior week this past spring that lead me to believe i was crushing the mic for at least 2 hours, but i wouldn't be able to tell you what i sang.

the thing i hate to hear at karaoke places is people thinking they're actually talented singers. nobody in the joint is there to hear you pretend you have perfect pitch; we just want to get shitfaced and hope we get to do Don't Stop Believin before someone else.

Spikey: I like doing B52's with a couple girls and I take the fruity guy's vocals. And nail it. Of course.

JOV: Yeah. The thinking your talented thing is lame, unless you're doing a heart felt cathartic belting out a sad one when you're slobbering drunk. Not that I do that . . .
