A Not at All Gay Sushi Night

Bobby Choo-Choo texted me last night and said he had a Groupon for Sushi at a place near both our apartments that expired that very night, so he asked if I wanted to go with him.  We picked up a bottle of wine and a couple of Japanese beers and walked over.

When we came in, the place was packed full of coupon procrastinators, so we took the one table left.  The Chicago Bulls game was on, so the hostess asked if both of us wanted to sit on the side facing the television.  We both thought that would look . . . funny, so Choo-Choo conceded that spot to me since he is more of a Boston fan and not big on the NBA.

Looking over the menu, the option that made the most sense was to get a "boat" of various sushi for a set and very reasonable price.  Of the three boats, of course the "Love Boat" was the best option.  When we ordered, Choo-choo asked in his thick Asian/Boston accent, "The Love Boat isn't 'hawt-shaped, is it?"
Behold!  The Gayflower

Turns out it was shaped like a regular old big boat, like the Mayflower, and it was full of delicious sushi.  Conversation included Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, an upcoming bachelor party we are attending, 1980's thrash metal, and nothing at all gay.  I swear.

Do any of you men have much experience dining with other men or know two men who do?

Another Post About a Damn Dream? Come on?!

Yes, I have done these before, but I promise I will make it funny and brief.

In this dream I'm at the airport with a friend of mine, and we both spot two former NFL players getting ready to fly somewhere together.  We overhear them saying that they are going on a tropical vacation.  One of them is Herschel Walker, and the other one is . . . Herschel Walker.  And this when your dreams can so easily trick you.  I was trying to place the face of the second one, but I had forgotten that I already knew the first was Herschel, so I guess they were just both Herschel?

My friend and I in the dream were wondering if maybe they were gay ex football players because who goes on a tropical vacations with another dude?  I guess it doesn't matter if Herschel and Herschel Clone were gay or not, but I guess people just like to get a scoop on some celebrity gossip.

So, if you have skimmed through this post, and I wouldn't blame you if you did, this is what you need to know, as this was just a dream:

1. I have no information that Herschel Walker is or is not gay.

2. I also am not making any claims that ex NFL running back, Herschel Walker, has a clone.

3. Even if Herschel Walker does have a clone, I have no evidence to support the fact that he takes tropical vacations with his clone.

4. If he and his clone take tropical vacations, that does not necessarily mean that there are any homosexual activities taking place during the course of said vacation.

Herschel Walker
Herschel's Gay Love Clone?

Sissy Boy Syndrome

Can you believe that is what a psychologist called the "disorder" that he "treated" through a government funded program in the 1970's?  It sounds more like something we would accuse your friends of being afflicted with when they are the first ones to leave the bar.

He believed he could cure young boys of gayness.  He instructed the boy's family featured in this video to ignore him every time he did anything deemed effeminate.  Well, he isn't gay anymore.  He's dead.  A lot of people call this treatment child abuse, and I tend to agree.

What a messed up concept it is thinking you can turn people straight.  I believe you're just born one way or another.  I say this because I have met plenty of obviously gay 1st graders over the years.  And they were all great kids just the way they are: nothing needs "fixing."

Get a look at this video if you have a second.

And try not to accuse your buddies of having Sissy Boy Syndrome because that's just rude and offensive.  Funny, yes, but out of line . . .

What the World Needs Now Is a Gay Jackie Robinson

I was watching "Real Sports" with Bryant Gumbel today, and they had a segment on Welsh Rugby player, Gareth Thomas, the only openly gay professional athlete on a sports team to come out during his career. Isn't that a sad fact that of all the professional sports teams all across the world, players are getting the same feeling, that the climate is such that coming out does not feel safe.

Jackie Robinson, the first Black Major League Baseball player, was hand chosen because they thought he had the right kind of character to respond to the bigotry and threats. This is what I think we need in all of our sports, a pioneer. After all, it isn't surprising that such a manly endeavor as sporting events has had a long history of intolerance of homosexuals, but I have found that even the least tolerant people can change their tune quickly when they are thrown into a situation where they have to become close to a homosexual - and find them to be just like anyone else.

On this same show, I was surprised to learn how widespread racism is in soccer, where Black players have bananas thrown at them at games, they are spit on, and people make monkey noises every time they get near the ball. They even showed entire sections of Nazi party people who hold up offensive signs.

Anyway, back to the homosexual thing, I think that guys really think that they can't have a gay man in the locker room because he won't be able to contain himself around all those naked men. Really? Get over yourself, guys. Your penis isn't all that great. Especially after all those steroids.
